This fabulous Antique Victorian large 18ct gilt locket is Circa 1900.
This lovely locket is set with three Paste Stones down the central gallery bordering cannetille workmanship complimented with a rope twist finish.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
The locket is heavy and substantial, complete with glass windows, gold liners and rims.
The locket opens to hold two photographs.
A fabulous locket which was purchased in London and steeped in English history.
The locket weighs 26.6 grams.
Measures 4.5cm down x 3.5cm across.
The inner windows measures 3.5cm down x 3cm across.
The Paste Stones measure 3mm across x 3mm down.
